SEO Strategies – Part 1 | How To Find Forums and Blog Comments

There are many blogs, articles, E-books, videos, you name it that discuss what SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is and how to do it.  Instead of beating a dead horse, I thought it might be a good idea to provide you some effective SEO internet marketing solutions to help you make the most of your SEO efforts.  The SEO strategies I will cover are some that I use personally and have found to be very efficient and effective.  And they are 100% FREE, so let’s get started. If you use SEO strategies to help your sites rank well in the Google SERPS, two of the most commonly used off page SEO techniques are:

  • Comments to Blog Posts
  • Forums

The goal under both techniques is to gain one way backlinks to your website.  The higher the blog or forum Page Rank (PR) the better.

Comments to Blog Posts

Commenting on blog posts is quite easy and there are several internet marketing solutions to accomplish this feat.  The most notable are:

  1. Doing it yourself
  2. Contracting or outsourcing someone else to do your blog comment posts for you
  3. Use software to make blog comment posts.

You usually have to pay someone to do the outsourcing and using software, in my opinion, can be dangerous.  It can post comments that do not relate to the blog topic which leads the blog owner to delete the comment, therefore no backlink.  And software can post blog comments to several blogs at once meaning the comments are coming from the same IP Address at one time.  Possibly resulting in the comments being flagged as “spam” and the IP address being reported which means you can’t use that software program again. The safest and most cost efficient SEO strategy is to make the blog comment posts yourself.  It’s FREE!

Forums You get the benefits of one way backlinks from forums in one of two ways.

  • Forum profiles – Set your URL of use “anchor text”
  • Forum Signature.  Then make posts in the forum

The normal internet marketing solutions to obtain forum backlinks is either to do them yourself, which can be very, very tedious and time consuming.  Or you can outsource that work to another person.  Which does come with a cost. If you are just getting into internet marketing and don’t have a lot of cash to burn, the best way to get forum backlinks is to just do it yourself.  Once you become El Richo “Cha Ching!!” then you can start outsourcing your forum link building. You are now probably wondering how to find forums and Blogs to post your backlinks too.  I’ve seen many SEO strategies and internet marketing solutions devoted to just that topic.  But I came across a really neat, FREE and effective way of finding blogs and forums in my websites related niche for posting backlinks.

Please note: I mentioned in the “related niche”.  It is quite OK to post backlinks to sites that are not related to your niche, especially if the PR is high.  But Google gives much more weight and the PR ranking is strengthened if the blog or forum is related to your sites niche.  More bang for your buck!

Solution

In order to do this, one of the neatest internet marketing solutions I came across involves the following:

  1. Google Alerts, and
  2. Google Reader

That’s it!  The goal is 2 fold.  Find blogs and forums .  Second, find those 2 items in a niche related to your website. I think the best way to describe the process is in a video.  You will find out I really enjoy doing videos, whether it be for marketing one of my websites or for tutorials, etc.  So go ahead and check out the video below:

I hope you enjoyed the video and found these internet marketing solutions useful.  Stay tuned for Part 2 of SEO Strategies.  Coming soon!
